Drawing Alert: Trendline Crossover
Draw trendlines directly on the chart and get alerted when price crosses them — more adaptive than fixed price levels.
Open the drawing page
Go to Alerts → Drawing Alert. Select a symbol and timeframe using the controls at the top. The TradingView chart will load with your saved trendlines if any exist.
Switch to Trendline drawing mode
By default the chart is in Move mode (pan/zoom). Click the "Trendline" button to switch to drawing mode. The cursor will change to indicate drawing is active.
Draw the trendline
Click two points on the chart to define the trendline. The line extends as a ray from the first point through the second. Press ESC to cancel an unfinished line. You can draw multiple lines.
Save the alert strategy
After drawing your lines, click "Save Alert". The system will monitor all drawn trendlines and notify you when price crosses any of them.
Tips for better results
Use higher timeframes (1h, 4h) for more reliable trendlines. Make sure the two anchor points are clearly on highs or lows. Trendlines are more useful for trends than for flat consolidations.
